Dubrovnik-South Dalmatia

DUBROVNIK

Dubrovnik is a city and port in Croatia located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. It is in this region where there is the longest tourist season with the warmest sea. By the way, Dubrovnik was listed as a World Heritage Site and protected by UNESCO as a cultural monument of world significance. What makes Dubrovnik one of the most popular resorts in the Mediterranean? The mild Mediterranean climate, combined with the amazingly beautiful nature. The region is filled with the breath of pines, cypresses, and laurels, as well as the continuous caress of sunlight and the crystal clear, warm sea. It attracts tourists with its grandeur, pacification and a slightly slower pace of life, which is especially appreciated by residents of noisy megacities.

In this brilliant city, indeed, the best that the Balkan country is proud of is concentrated: luxurious architecture, dizzying landscapes, well-groomed beaches, cozy restaurants. If you plan to go on summer holidays to Dubrovnik, you will surely like the large sandy and pebble beaches with an excellent infrastructure. And even having plenty of fun in the cleanest waters, sunbathing on pebble beaches and having seen enough of the red brick roofs framed by impregnable fortress walls, you inevitably catch yourself thinking: you need to come back in Dubrovnik again.

Beachlife

Dubrovnik stretches along the Adriatic Sea for 6 km. So, in Dubrovnik, everything is considered a beach, from where you can go down into the water in any way possible - by stairs, jump from stones, or go from the shore. However, along the coast of Dubrovnik, there are many beautiful beaches - Sveti Jakov Beach, Banje Beach, Betina Cave Beach, etc. In fact, every beach in Dubrovnik is the best of the best due to the noble turquoise color of the Mediterranean Sea and crystal clear water. Another feature - all the beaches in Dubrovnik are pebble and well-equipped. Only Lapad beach features shallow water with pleasant sand. Admission is almost everywhere free, the sea is transparent as a baby's tear. There are showers, toilets, changing cabins, rental kayaks and yachts, a good restaurant and several bars.

Lapad beach is one of the most popular beaches is located in Lapad Bay. This is a salvation for those who love Croatia, its emerald pines, ancient narrow streets, the cleanest sea, and simply hate the ubiquitous pebbles on the coast. There are still small pebbles on the coast, but the descent into the water is sandy, a pleasure for heels. Indeed, the Croats proudly call the coastline of the Lapad Peninsula the longest sandy beach in the country, where vacationers can have a rest on the beach, take a massage in waves or leave children to play on the beach without fear of injuring their legs.

Sveti Jakov beach is a small beach where you will get a beautiful view of the Old Town and the Lokrum isle. An unusual multi-level rocky Banje beach is located right at the foot of the Dubrovnik City Wall on the south coast of the city. A small secret Betina beach is located directly in the rock that you can reach it only by sea. The pluses are obvious - unusual, beautiful and not at all crowded. Families with children are more likely to choose Copacobana Beach, which extends to the north of the Babin Kuk Peninsula. There is a pebble coating, but just a few steps from the shore, pebbles turn into sand. The entrance to the water is smooth, safe even for the smallest bathers.

Nightlife

The nightlife of Dubrovnik is also varied: annual summer international festivals of music, drama and dance, many cafes, bars, restaurants, discos, and nightclubs - here tourists of all ages and passions will find entertainment for themselves. The Old Town of Pile

The heart of Dubrovnik is the Old Town of Pile: the historical center, where the main attractions, souvenir shops, and restaurants are concentrated. Because of the red-tiled roofs, it would not be very easy to distinguish the old city of the new one. In Dubrovnik, the task is facilitated by the fact that you will be met by many tourists and guides in the Old Town. They offer many city tours. One of the most popular is a tour of the places where the series "Game of Thrones" was shot. This tour includes a visit to the Dubrovnik fortress, which became the prototype of the Queen of the Harbor, Trsteno Arboretum, where Lady Olenna's arbor is located, Gradac Park, where the wedding of Prince Joffrey was held. To explore the Old Town, you can climb the ramparts. They surround the entire historical center of Dubrovnik. In addition, the walls offer excellent views of the Mediterranean Sea, the island of Lokrum and the fortress of St. Lawrence. For connoisseurs of luxury, it’s better to choose the neighboring Ploce district, adjacent to the fortress in the east. There are the most fashionable hotels, nearby is the famous Banje Beach with an elite night club.

Lapad & Babin Kuk

Two more popular resort areas are Lapad on the shores of the bay of the same name and Babin Kuk, lush with the greenery of gardens and parks. The visiting card of the first is the wooded hill of Petka, the symbol of the second is the ideal Copacobana beach for family leisure. Both areas will appeal to fans of a relaxing beach holiday with European comfort.

The Lapad Peninsula is a remote, but very picturesque part of Dubrovnik. In the area of the bay of the same name, there are several cozy beaches that are popular among tourists who choose not the city center as their accommodation. If you want to spend your vacation in Dubrovnik being peaceful and in the total silence, far from city traffic jams, then Lapad is the best choice. One of the attractions of Lapada is a long promenade with many cafes and restaurants, at the end of which there are beautiful beaches.

In the part of Lapad called Babin Kuk, you can practice various sports, for example, volleyball, handball, tennis. There are also cinemas and many restaurants in Lapad. There are also several excellent beaches there - Copacabana, Uvala Lapad, Neptune and the President and the nudist beach of Kava.

Gruzh

Near the port, there is a residential area of Gruzh with developed infrastructure, a central bus station, and the main city market. That's just far from the main beaches, but housing prices, as a result, are very affordable. Gruzh district is located 2 km from the Old Town. There is a seaport and a bus station - most of the tourists coming to Dubrovnik get to Gruz. From this district, it is convenient to go on boat trips to the islands of Mljet, Elafiti, Šipan, Lopud, and Koločep.
