BUDAPEST

The majestic and pompous Budapest can please both those who want to see ancient Europe and learn more about history and those who prefer to go beyond sightseeing trips. It is a great idea to buy tickets and go on a tour in Budapest. It is the real pearl of Europe - ancient baroque quarters, magnificent theaters and palaces, ancient fortifications, historical monuments to the great Hungarian kings, of course, the magnificent Parliament building, which is beautiful at any time of the day or night.

This is not all that the Hungarian capital is rich in. It is impossible to deny yourself the pleasure of sitting at the table of a cozy restaurant, tasting a wonderful goulash and drinking a glass of Tokai wine in the deepest winter or in the quiet evenings of hot summer. You can not ignore the famous bathhouses, which Budapest is famous for in all of Europe. It is difficult to list all the attractions of this city. So it is better to come for weekend tours in Budapest and see everything with your own eyes. We can sum up concerning Budapest - this point on the map is a must-see for everyone.

What to visit in Budapest?

Be prepared to walk a lot to see the main attractions of the city. Geographically and historically, Budapest is formed as two settlements on the banks of the majestic Danube river. Each of the settlements was on the opposite bank from each other. A village Buda was on one of the shores, which was higher than another gentle bank, where there was a cozy Pest. After some time, both cities merged into one under the name of Budapest. This is the main thing that everyone immediately learns about the geography of the Hungarian capital to plan a trip to Budapest properly. One of the reasons for disputes between Buda and Pest is where it is better to start exploring the city - from Buda Hill or from old Pest?

There is the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, or else the Budapest Bridge that connects the two banks of the Danube for more convenient transportation between two old parts of the city: Buda and Pest. Besides, you can admire it both from the coast and from the deck of the ship, going along the Danube in the warm season.

Start your way from the Hungarian Parliament Building. This is the most recognizable and the most exquisite building in Budapest. Being a real symbol of the city, and of Hungary as a whole, it is depicted on almost every second souvenir brought from Budapest. Parliament is open to public access, and everyone has the opportunity to see its equally magnificent interiors. If you want to be impressed by the scale of the Hungarian Parliament Building, it is better to choose a viewing point in the distance. The most wonderful views of the parliament are open from the opposite bank, namely from Gellért Hill, from the balcony of the Fisherman's Bastion and from the Buda Castle. By the way, this is an old part of the city where the Royal Palace, the Historical Museum, St. Matthias Church and many other attractions are located. You can climb to it on the old-established Budapest Castle Hill Funicular.

Fisherman's Bastion is one more attraction of the Buda Castle, which it is worth highlighting separately. If at the mention of its name, you picture fishing nets and severe fishermen to yourself, you will be very surprised. In fact, this is a beautiful white-stone fortress with seven towers. It is so named only because it was used to trade fish. The most beautiful view of the Danube is open exactly from the Fisherman's Bastion. So do not be too lazy and go up to it! Moreover, the entrance is free.

Being on vacation in Budapest, don’t forget to visit Széchenyi Thermal Bath - the largest bath complex in Europe, the real pride of the Hungarians. This is a magical place with 11 different pools and 3 saunas. The most popular, of course, are outdoor pools with thermal water (the temperature, even in winter, is + 27 ° C and + 38 ° C). If Széchenyi is considered the most famous and popular swimming pool in Budapest, then Gellért Thermal Bath can rightfully be called the most beautiful one. It is surrounded by colored stained-glass mosaics and marble statues. When you are there, you start to think that you are floating in some kind of fairy-tale palace.

Nightlife

Without any doubt, Budapest is interesting for its cultural and historical values. But life in the city is in full swing not only during the day! The nightlife is also full of surprises and exciting experiences. In Budapest, you can find trendy clubs for the public with an income above the average, and budget discos for students, and pubs for those who want to spend an evening with friends and good old hits, and cozy little jazz bars.

There are so many clubs in the city that guests and residents of Budapest do not have to think too long about where and how to spend their free time. Many clubs in the city are open all night and attract a huge number of visitors. In addition to dance parties, theme nights are often held there.

The local authority came up with the right solution singled out one area for a fun nightlife, providing others with peace and quiet. Most youth clubs, pubs, hostels are concentrated in the 7th district of the city, in Erzsébetváros, specifically in the Jewish Quarter and on Elizabeth Square adjacent to it. In the Jewish quarter, in fact, the night goes from Friday to Monday. Hungary practices bar surfing - visiting the maximum number of bars in one night. Being in the same bar for more than 1.5 hours is considered a sign of bad taste. However, the task is facilitated by the fact that the main part of the pubs is located within the Jewish quarter.

If you want to create a special atmosphere for a romantic date or just to be alone with yourself, fascinated by the beauty of the world, just visit one of the bars and pubs located on the roofs of high-rise buildings.
